Matthew 6:19-20 tells us that we should,

“...not merely store up treasures on earth...But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Let me ask a question: What is it that has captured the affection of your heart? Do you find yourself more concerned about things you have or even those things you don’t have yet?

In our society, most things created are made to be temporary. In your lifetime, technology has created a superhighway of opportunities. The only problem is that very soon after you’ve purchased the latest model device, they’re already marketing something new, stating what you have is obsolete.

Every earthly treasure we hold so dear to ourselves will change, and if these things don’t go out of style, they usually wear out. But there are things that we can invest in.

Jesus said that he is preparing a place.

The only way we can have what he has for us is by investing in our lives with the Word of God and sharing with as many of our peers as possible the Gospel message.

The only things that are lasting will be those spiritual choices that affect us and others for eternal life.
