After all, it seems like those who are not truthful are the ones who prosper. So why shouldn’t I get what I can?
Jesus said of Himself in John 14:6,
I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
For centuries we have been told that there are absolute standards of truth and certain things are right and certain things are wrong. But, now many in our culture would have us believe that there are no longer absolutes, only suggestions.
In looking for a clear definition of truth, I came across this definition by Josh McDonnell from a recent study of youth and their beliefs. It states,
An absolute truth, is that which is true for all people, for all times, for all places. Simply stated, just as 2+2=4 is true in any language, country and culture, there are certain “truths” that are also absolute.
Jesus declares, “He is truth” and for Him to say that He must be able to provide for all people at all times, in all places! That provision is the Gospel and it is not a message for a select few but a message for all people of all time and all places.
