Have you ever been lonely? All of us have experienced being lonely at some time, and even though it may sound like a cliché, we indeed have a savior who understands.
The fact is Jesus faced the same problems you do - peer pressure, temptation, and yes, even loneliness. Imagine how Jesus must have felt the night he was about to be betrayed. Those closest to him fell asleep, and when the soldiers arrived, they all ended up running away, leaving Jesus to stand by himself in a difficult time. Hebrews 4:15 tells us that,
“...we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses.”
Being left alone is not any fun for any of us. It can be a very frightening time, but you can turn that loneliness into a time of being alone with God.
Often Jesus would go off to a lonely place to communicate with God. In every occasion in scripture, Jesus would then return to touch the lives of people with a miracle or a healing, instead of being upset over being alone.
Perhaps God will then send you out with the power to touch someone’s life with a miracle.
