Often their uncertainty is due to something that has happened or disappointed them in the past.
Regardless of what it is, the past makes no difference concerning what God can do for you today. That is the incredible greatness of the Christian life and your commitment. Even if our past is a result of our failures, we can ask for forgiveness and be completely released from those past actions.
Whenever you feel like you are struggling or are wondering if you are ever going to make it as a Christian, there is one thing you can know and be sure of:
In fact, Jeremiah 29:11 tells us,
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
He then continues by saying, if you will come and pray, He will listen!
No matter what your disappointment or hurts are from your past, God can help you. All too often, our choices allow the past to keep us from living to our full potential. You cannot do much to change the past, but you can know that it has been forgiven and taken care of by Jesus Christ. So, why not choose to surrender what you cannot do about the past to Christ and then let Him guide you now and in your future.
