Several years ago, there was a movie in which a high school senior decided he wanted it to become more popular, so he offered this girl $1,000.00 if she would act like she was his girlfriend for one month.

His popularity exploded when the other students saw the two of them together. For this kid, however, it wasn’t long till the girl became threatened by his popularity and told all her friends what he had done. Her comment to her friends was, “You’re all nothing but a bunch of followers who fell for something this guy was not.” After that, not only was he shunned by those he thought were his friends, but he also lost all those friends who were there for him those years of high school.

Fortunately, this was just a movie. But there are people every day who want so badly to be more popular with the so-called “in crowd” that they give up something very valuable. More valuable than $1,000.00. They surrender their convictions, their standards, and even their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Galatians 1:10 tells us about people pleasers rather than God pleasers,

“...If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

So, who do you live your life for? For your friends and whether they think you’re cool before they accept you?

Make the decision to be a God pleaser!

Jesus Christ will always accept you no matter who you are.
